Speed Skating Sloth: The Musical
Orchestrator

Story of Me
Pianist always. Collaborator by instinct. Amateur programmer by curiosity.
The work
Memorable melodies fueled by emotion drive everything else.
First and foremost, I’m a composer. I write melody-driven music for theatre, film, games, and projects that refuse to fit neatly in a box.
Orchestration is where those ideas find their color, scale, and dramatic shape. The piano has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, both as a writing instrument and as a place to perform.
Collaboration is the name of the game. The best work happens when people bring different instincts into the same room and build something none of them could have made alone.
The route here
I’m a Michigan native living in Los Angeles. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Oakland University and my master’s degree from New York University, where I was fortunate to study with William Finn, Michael John LaChiusa, and Sybille Pearson.
I believe video games are an art form, deadlines should be kept, and melody is one of the fastest routes to an honest emotion. I also write code for fun, and an above-average number of my friends are clowns.
A few defining projects
A short cross-section of musicals, films, and collaborations from my larger body of work.
